According to police, a video was widely shared on social media in which the girl could be seen with a weapon. Acting on the footage, Naubatpur Police Station launched an investigation to verify the authenticity of the video and identify the individual involved.
During the inquiry, police discovered that the girl was present in Babupur village under the jurisdiction of Naubatpur Police Station. A police team promptly reached the location and detained her from Babupur along with the illegal firearm.
During questioning, the minor failed to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding how she obtained the weapon or where she was taking it. Police subsequently seized the firearm and initiated legal proceedings under the Juvenile Justice Act. The girl has been placed in custody in accordance with legal procedures applicable to minors.
Station House Officer Manjeet Kumar Thakur stated that, due to her age, the process of sending her to a juvenile correctional home is being carried out. He further said that investigators are examining who supplied the firearm and whether any criminal conspiracy or larger illegal network may be connected to the case.
The incident has raised serious concerns about the possession of illegal weapons by minors and the role of social media in exposing unlawful activities. Authorities continue to investigate the source of the firearm and the circumstances surrounding the case.
